What is a post-election audit?

If you have not heard of a post-election audit, a very basic explanation of a post-election audit in Minnesota is that after Election Day vote-tabulating machines (the machine you see in a precinct on Election Day) are randomly selected and the ballots that were fed into that machine are hand-counted by election judges from two different parties. This is a method of determing if the machines are accurately counting the ballots. You can learn more if you read some of our reports or if you follow this link.
